Is it difficult to install and can anyone install this curbing?
My best professional answer is: Keep in mind you are purchasing a service, not a "product". This is not something you can take back once the damage is done. If the Curber does not know what they are doing you will be shocked at the results. I've enclosed below several pictures of just a few of the unprofessional installations we have personally came across. Please note, these photos are not intended to single out specific companies nor can or will we disclose the companies responsible for these installations. These photos were taken by Curbin
USA®strictly for the purpose of educating consumers so that you don't end up with a very unpleasant, costly nightmare. Check out our VIDEO that demonstrate a little of the process. You will see it does not come in blocks, but is actually extruded wet concrete to go with the contour of your landscape. If you are looking for "smooth flowing, picture perfect, & more importantly long lasting curb", your best bet is to go with the originals -Curbin
USA®
! Best of all, you will be pleasantly surprised to know we are very affordable.
The concrete curb is very vulnerable during the first twenty four hours. It is imperative to keep guests, children, pets and even yourself away from the curb for the first day, otherwise they can and will damage your curb as demonstrated below. Pictures #1,2,3 &4 show what an animal can do to wet concrete. Sometimes, the curb can be repaired, other times it has to be replaced. Regardless, there will be a distinctive color difference and there will be an extra charge, so please take the warning and stay clear that first day. After the first few days, Curbin
USA®'s curb is pretty strong. It is strong enough at that point that animals and children cannot hurt the curb if they step on it. It is OK to rake your bed covering back into place a few days after installation, just make sure the curb does not take a direct hit from any tools. It is best to wait a few weeks before you begin any major replanting or changes to your bed area, as it actually takes four weeks to complety dry through and through. It will become very blotchy during the drying process. Do not be alarmed as this is normal. Do not allow anyone to dig underneath the curb, since your curb is only as good as its foundation. Also don't allow a vehicle to run over the curb. Pictures #5 shows what a vehicle will do to curb - new or old.Our curb does not just "fall" apart because our mix is so strong and it is packed very well. For a little story, a customer left us a message because a section of the curb at the sidewalk just fell off. After speaking to him, we explained it doesn't just fall off, but we would come out and take a look. The next day when we arrived, his little boy had admitted he just wanted to see what it felt like and knocked a chunk off. Picture 7 & 8 show the result of this mishap.Last, but most importantly... Watch your curbin after installation to make sure no children, pets, neighbors, neighbors pets, etc.., etc.. because it is WET CONCRETE!!!

Is there anything I need to do in preparation for my Curbin Installation and do I have to be Home?
In Preparation, the day prior to our arrival, pop up all of your sprinkler heads and have them all marked so we do not trap them under the cement or cause damage to the sprinkler heads. Afterwards, turn off your sprinkler system and leave it off for at least one day after installation. If you have plants, sprinkler heads, or lighting in the path of where the curb is to be placed, make sure they have been moved at least one foot from where we will be sod cutting and placing the curb. Please make sure this is done at least the day prior to our arrival. Also a week before our arrival call 800-282-7411 to have utilities marked. We only dig below the root system of the sod, however many times the cable and phone lines are not properly buried. YES, the HOMEOWNER making the decisions MUST be home during installation. You are customizing to your preference, not your family members or friends. We want you pleased every time you pull in your driveway. The only way to accomplish this is to get your input on your likes and dislikes. In addition, half of our customers add footage, such as a mailbox area. Once we leave we cannot come back to do a small area that you wanted, without reinforcing our minimum purchase requirement again. In addition, we cannot be responsible if someone or something damages the curb after we leave. Once the job is complete, we do a walk around with you to make sure everything is cleaned to your expectations as well as show you the curb is intact and beautiful.
If damage does occur after our departure, not only do we charge a fee to come back, but there will also be a very distinctive color difference. If you need more clarification, it is noted on your estimate-so please read your Care and Maintenance Instructions as well. Last, but most importantly... Inform Children, Family, Neighbors and Neighbors Pets that you are having "WET Decorative Concrete Curb" Installed and to stay away from your curb for a minimum of one day!!!!!
Does this process damage my lawn or flowerbeds, and what can I do to prepare for the installation?
There will not be any damage to your landscape! In fact, we recommend your sod, flowerbeds, and sprinkler systems be installed prior to our arrival, just make sure you follow instructions noted above. Once you approve the design of your flower bed, we sod cut the design with a 9" sod cutter so you will have that beautiful smooth flowing curb. Not only does that remove the sod for placement of the curb, but also gives you the opportunity to see the flow of the bed area prior to the installation of the curb. In other words, it still isn't too late to change your mind on the flow. We want you to be 100% ecstatic with the results of your new Curbin

Is this landscape curbing a new product and does it last?
Curbin
USA®is the Original "Decorative" Concrete Curbing Company that introduced it to the Metro Atlanta area in 1999. Prior to us, many consumers noticed the plain mower edge or even the plain rounded curb and was not very impressed. It set off a commercial tone that most consumers did not want for their landscape. Since then we have extruded hundreds of thousands of feet of decorative curbing all over Metro Atlanta. It is definitely more appealing now than prior to 1999. As far as it lasting over a long time frame, it mainly depends on the mix from the installer. In addition, you must keep tree roots from creeping under the curb, otherwise Picture #10 demonstrates what will happen. Heavy commercial type mowers, other heavy equipment or vehicles can also damage the curb, as shown in Picture #6.Curbin
USA® uses top of the line products to insure long lasting curb. We even go that extra mile and use a special additive and sealants to insure the clearest & consistent concrete curbing on the market. We are so confident you will love Curbin
USA®s installed curb, that we have a Satisfaction Guarantee! We collect our money once the work is complete and you are completely "Satisfied"! We take it a step further and give you a "one year limited warranty" on materials and workmanship.

Are you limited to a design layout, such as with Timbers?
Our Concrete curbing machine is ideal for our Georgian hills and mountain terrain, especially since we don't get the luxury of level ground to soften. We specifically designed our own curbin machine so that it is easily maneuverable, as well as has the ability to adjust for a little extra height when needed. Our machine provides us the flexibility needed for your specific land type and design. It curves, circles, or extrudes straight lines to allow you any design your heart desires. We require the homeowner to be home during installation to insure you are happy with the flow of the design. In addition, we encourage the homeowner to stay outside to see the awe of the process. It is definitely a site to see. To witness first hand the before to the after transformation within a few hours is amazing!
How effective is this Concrete Curb in keeping out grass?
Many Georgians still do not know that extruded concrete curbing has a proven tract record at preventing sod from entering your flower bed. Your constant (loosing) fight to keep sod out of your flower beds ended with this invention. You also do not have weeds growing in-between this edging since it is all one continuous piece (unless there is a crack in the concrete, such as from a tree root), nor can the sod grow under it if it is prepared correctly. There are a few different molds (shapes) to choose from. The most common is "slant" & "mower" style. With our machine, both molds have a minimum 4" heights in back and 2" on front. The curb is actually 6" wide. Our molds are designed high enough to keep sod from growing through it, and also high enough on the back to retain your bed covering, such as mulch. Our machine even has the ability to adjust higher for the mountain area's where you may need a little more height. As long as your area is prepared properly and your grass clippings do not go into your flower bed, you will not have creeping sod in your bed area any longer!
Sounds good, but can anyone truly afford this?
Compared to the 'do it yourself' blocks that you can purchase including tax and install yourself at a home improvement store, our prices are very compatible AND it is installed professionally. There is no tax on our curbin, since you are paying for a "service" not a product. We would not be so successful in Metro Atlanta if our curb were not affordable and effective. To top it off, Curbin
USA® installs it professionally (in half a day to a full day depending on amount of footage), leaving your weekends available for the fun stuff like shopping or going fishing. We typically accept cash and personal checks (no out of state banks accepted). For a minimum charge, we also accept Visa, Master Card & Discover Cards (no credit card checks accepted). On a case by case basis, we offer payment plans. So, Don't Delay click on our Red Star to request your FREE Curbin
